Resumption of Passenger Rail Services on the Sarajevo–Čapljina–Sarajevo Route

We would like to inform our valued passengers that, following the fulfilment of the necessary safety and technical requirements for the regular operation of passenger rail services, regular passenger services on the Sarajevo–Mostar–Čapljina route will resume on Thursday, 15 October 2026, in accordance with the current timetable and planned service frequency. The services had been suspended since 8 September 2026.

The suspension and subsequent reduction of passenger services were caused by a fire that affected a wider area along the railway corridor, including the Konjic station area. As a result, additional site inspections were required to assess and eliminate potential safety risks and ensure the conditions necessary for the safe operation of rail services.

During the suspension of weekday services, ŽFBiH used the available time to carry out essential maintenance inspections, repairs, overhauls and calibration of the CNC wheel reprofiling equipment used for Talgo trainsets, in order to ensure the full reliability and high safety standards of the rolling stock.

With the completion of the aforementioned works and maintenance inspections on the Talgo trainsets, as well as the necessary safety checks in the fire-affected area, the conditions for the resumption of regular passenger services have been met. During the period of reduced services, the international train operating on the Sarajevo–Ploče–Sarajevo route continued to run under enhanced supervision.

We thank our passengers for their patience and understanding.
